Up May 2010 pt2

May 1st - 2nd

I took the last day of April off to get some work done at home.  Spread some dirt, installed my well pump, cleaned up the shop a little.  I did this so I could really devote the weekend to the car.  In the grand scheme of things I didn't get too much done, but it is important work.  I remembered feeling a rough edge under the fuel filler so I wanted to grind to off.  Then I remembered to take a picture of the option code marking of my rear assembly.  N14 is the code for factory side pipes.

Then I spent some time installing a new speedometer cable.  Only to find out the one I just ordered I didn't need and actually couldn't use as one as a special one came with my new transmission.  Next I replaced the clutch rod boot.

Next I installed my new brake and clutch pedal pads and then proceeded to lower the body back on the car.  While I was at it I installed new rivets on the high beam dead pedal.  and installed a new rivet at the mouth of the tunnel for the transmission cable.  I took the rear wheels off as it makes the #3 body mounts much easier to work on.  I didn't really get any pictures of this as it is a little tricky without the distraction of trying to capture everything.  So I guess lets fast forward though lowering body and setting the 4 center mounts with the poly bushing and 1 shim each.  Then using a disks and spacers for the outer 4 to get them close.  Then applying 47 lbs ft of torque to all 8 bolts. After than I needed to get the fenders and hood set.  So I finished installing the hinges and gathering up all the shims and such.  Then set the fenders, installed the hood and finally put the rear wheels back on.
