| Step | Action | Location | Reason |
| 2a | Remove seats & sill plates | Cockpit | They are in the way, its much easier to remove the kick panels with seats out. With seat out you sit on door sill, don't want to bend plate. Removes significant weight. |
| 3a | Remove carpet | Cockpit | My carpet was shot, also I plan to detail the floor pan and wanted to get all the seat belt bracket bolts out so I could remove the rocker channels. |
| 6a | Remove parking brake console | Cockpit | Easier to remove shifter console. |
| 17a | Remove spare tire carrier | Below gas tank | Much easier to work on bumper bolts without this large monstrosity in the way. |
| 17b | Remove rear light wiring harness | Rear lights | Mine was kind of ragged, didn't want any of it to catch on lift, just pulled from lights and taped to body in drivers fender well. |
| 20a | Remove exhaust pipes | Under car | Im replacing the rear exhaust with side exhaust, and it kept getting in my way as I tried to creep under car. Also its easier to get to the speedo cable with the exhaust gone. |
| 28a | Remove passenger side header | Engine Comp | Its much easier to remove the starter wiring with the header gone. Its not going back on anyway. Also it helps makes sure the wiring harness wont snag. |
| 33a | Remove mirrors | Doors | Just to be sure they don't get ripped off during lift. |
| 35a | Remove Doors | Doors | My rockers channels were rusted out so I had to lift from the door strikers and door hinges holes. |
| 35b | Remove Dash | Interior | Had to remove dash to remove doors. |
| 35c | Remove Deck lid and convertible top | Rear interior | Weight saving measure.. Needed to be removed for restoration anyway.. |
| 35d | Remove windshield and window trim. | Windshield | Since my rocker channels were rusted out I didn't want the window to fracture from body twist. |
